Creating a Culture of Life
How can we drop bombs on a country if we realize that it will land on a woman grasping the hand of her child? How can we continue to consume animals and use wasteful agricultural practices if we know that somewhere a family doesn't have enough water to cultivate grain? How can we continue to be apathetic to the abuse of women and children when we understand that without healing, the abuse becomes cyclical through an eternity of generations? How can we continue to kill babies if we really realize that their little brain is dreaming and their little heart is beating? When we give money to charity, work on an anti-war campaigns, or become vegan, it seems that we are treating the symptoms and not preventing the disease. If we begin truly respecting and guarding the preciousness of life then we would stop creating so much suffering in the world. Start with the babies. Make sure that every child that is brought into this world is cherished, that is the best way to begin to create a culture of life. Provide a nuturing support system to all pregnant woman at any stage of their life, teenaged, middleaged, wed, or unwed. Thank those women who concieve and carry a baby, birth it, and give it to a family who dreams for years of having a child instead of passing judgement and shunning them. Encourage adoption of the thousands and thousands of children that are waiting for parents in orphanages right now. Birth control needs to be free to all women and men, an unwanted child is a negelected child. Family education needs to be free to everyone, we need to give people the resources to become prepared parents. Raise children to respect life in all of it's amazing forms, from a branch on a tree, to the lonely elderly lady who lives down the street, to the animals who are held prisioner on a factory farm. If we plant seeds of compassion we will see peace and prosperity grow. |
